For our most popular or exclusive tours such as: discover the Etruscans, The dying city&the Monster’s park, Minicruise Giglio&Giannutri; Tuscany food tours and Christian and Imperial Rome tours; we recommend booking as soon as possible. Do you accept last-minute bookings?

Of course we do! But only if there is any space left in the small group tours of maximum 10 people. Please check our website for availability first. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, there is a chance that it’s sold out. In that case we can still take bookings over the phone, so call us on one of the contact numbers or send us an email and we will do our best to welcome you on the tour.

What information do you need from me in order to build a custom itinerary?

The more information you can share with us, the better your trip will be. We can help you realize your Italy travel dreams if you give us an idea of what kind of experience you seek. Please provide us with the details on the trip you are considering and the activities you’d like to engage in. Helpful details include:

Not on all tours. Please get in touch with our team before bringing a stroller on your tour. Some sites will not allow you to bring a stroller inside.

It’s raining, is my tour still running?

Yes! Our tours operate also during rainy days. Please remember to bring a small umbrella if possible since you won’t be allowed inside some museums with large umbrellas. On some rare occasions, when the weather is particularly hostile, some outdoor sites may be closed (Colosseum in case of flooding). On these occasions we will reschedule your tour or offer an alternative one.

In the small group tour you and your party will join a group of other travelers from different backgrounds and a single tour guide. Since our goal is to offer you an exclusive service, our groups are formed by maximum 10 people even though the usual number is 6-8 people groups. In the private tour, you’ll have your own tour guide and/or private car if you wish, nobody else will be joining your tour and you’ll be able to spend your time at your own pace. 1. When is the best time to visit Italy?

The simple answer is ANYTIME! Italy is truly an excellent destination year-round. No matter when you are planning to travel, you will find a place to stay that is perfect for that time of year. Generally, we personally feel the months between March and early May, and the months of September and October are the best all-round times to visit Italy. Late May through August are the busiest time of the year to travel to Italy, so it is essential that you book well in advance during these months. The off-season months between November and February can also be great options for experience our country with fewer crowds. The downside at this time is that some coastal properties in the Italian Riviera and the Amalfi Coast are seasonal and close down for the winter.

  • Should I tip my guide?

Please note, gratuities are NOT included in the tour price. It is customary to tip tour guides, drivers and tour operator assistants a minimum of 10% if you are pleased with the service your receive. Tips must be made in cash and cannot be charged via credit card. However, they are not obligatory and we won’t hold it against you if you don’t tip – nor will your tour guide.

  1. Should I purchase trip insurance?

Yes absolutely if you plan a 6-7 holydays. Travel Insurance gives you peace of mind in safeguarding your investment in the event of a cancellation prior to or during your trip. We strongly recommends that you purchase a comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking.

Travel insurance is for your protection in the case of any unforeseen event that delays or prevents travel.

  • How long should I spend in Italy?

We recommend at least a week, if not longer. With 7-10 days, you can get a good introduction to Italy and with 2 weeks or longer you can experience even more.

When possible we recommend devoting as much time as you can to your trip, so you can visit more places and minimize rushing around. On the other hand, even with a limited schedule you can have a profound, fulfilling trip. For travel inspiration, take a look to our trip ideas.

Where do I go to start my shore excursions?  You need to arrive at the MEETING POINT at Civitavecchia Port

Where is the meeting point from Civitavecchia Port? Largo della Pace. TERMINAL CRUISE SHUTTLE BUS. It is the meeting point and last stop of the port free shuttle bus (that picks up you from the boat). From the shuttle-bus drop off area you have to exit from the port and we wait for you just outside of the exit holding with a sign with your name on it”. The Cruise shuttle service operates only on the days of passengers’ embarkation/disembarkation. The service is planned and works in synch with the arrival of ships and is active from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

At What time should we meet at the meeting point? the pick up will depend on tour scheduling time from 07.30 to 08.45 AM approximatively, due to shuttle bus you could wait 5 – 10 minutes more

Is possible to receive pick up and drop off service directly from the dock? Sorry it is not possible because the majority of cruise companies do not authorize us to arrive there. They do not permit free suppliers due to competition: in fact they are not happy when cruisers do not buy shore excursions directly from them. Anyway we can do our best to satisfy these needs when it is absolutely necessary and requested by you.

Is there a risk I’ll miss the ship if I don’t book through the cruise line? No. Although the cruise lines would like you to believe that independent tours carry this risk. We are well aware of your ship’s departure time, and our tours are designed to get you back to the ship with time to spare.

What do shore excursions include? Shore excursions include transportation according to the itinerary, meals, refreshments, guides, and entrance fees as indicated in the individual tour descriptions.

What should I wear? While the specific recommended attire is described in the individual tour descriptions, travelers should always wear comfortable shoes and use sunscreen, a sun hat and sunglasses in locations with ample sun. Remember to bring with you Identity Card.

How much physical activity is involved in the tours? The level of activity varies by tour. In order to help you understand the level of activity involved in each tour, we have created the following categories:

EASY physical activity: Only light walking and no major climbing required.

MODERATE physical activity: A fair amount of walking is required, You may need to negotiate a few steps;

DIFFICULT physical activity: A large amount of walking is required. You should be in good physical health if you reserve one of these tours.

Are there plenty of public conveniences (restrooms) along the way?

Your guides will indicate all available restrooms throughout the tour and give you plenty of time to use them.

Should I tip my guide/driver ?

Please note, gratuities are NOT included in the tour price. It is customary to tip tour guides, drivers and tour operator assistants a minimum of 10% if you are pleased with the service your receive. Tips must be made in cash and cannot be charged via credit card. However, they are not obligatory and we won’t hold it against you if you don’t tip – nor will your tour guide/driver.

Can I take your tours if I require a wheelchair route?

Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs on our shared tours due to the fact that in most of the sites and museums, wheelchair users are required to follow a different route not accessible to those not in wheelchairs. In most cases, we can serve wheelchair users only on private tours so your tour guide can adapt the route to their particular requirements.

If the wheelchair is foldable, and you do not need a ramp or elevator, you can reserve a minivan or a van.
